Recruiting for a Recruitment Adviser initially on a 6 month contract to work for an independent law firm with a high profile client base in the City.

The successful candidate will join the recruitment team which sits within the wider human resources department and comprises of one Recruitment Manager, one Senior Recruitment Adviser, one Recruitment Adviser and one Recruitment Administrator.

The team are responsible for the recruitment of all fee-earning and business services staff.

The successful hire will play a key role in delivering end-to-end recruitment on permanent and contract positions across both areas of the business (legal and business services).

The role

The individual will be required to carry out a broad range of tasks to ensure all stakeholders have a positive experience. Key duties will include:

  • determining, coordinating and delivering a resourcing plan to meet the hiring needs of the team/department. This includes proactively responding to business needs with speed and accuracy, and seeking ideas and solutions;
  • adding value by demonstrating an understanding of the external market and trends, sharing this knowledge and where appropriate, advising the hiring manager;
  • building an understanding of the firm, the teams/departments and what they look for;
  • updating of job descriptions;
  • promoting and engaging in direct sourcing, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout;
  • liaising with recruitment agencies in relation to vacancies, sharing information on the firm's various initiatives and encouraging a diverse shortlist of candidates;
  • conducting initial telephone interviews with direct applicants and maintaining contact with them throughout the recruitment process;
  • suggesting suitable interview exercises where required;
  • attending interviews where required;
  • providing regular updates to the hiring manager(s) on how their vacancy is progressing;
  • providing feedback to candidates and extending job offers;
  • contributing to the learning and development of the recruitment administrator; and
  • Maintaining an up to date knowledge of current and relevant employment legislation.

The candidate
